Patrick Henry Library Garage Design Funding OK'd In Vienna
As part of the development agreement with Fairfax County, the Town of Vienna is covering 30 percent of the design contract.

VIENNA, VA — On Monday, Vienna Town Council approved $663,000 in funding for the design phase of a public parking garage at Patrick Henry Library.
The design phase funding relates to a development contract with Fairfax County approved by Vienna Town Council in June 2020. Fairfax County plans to construct 125 library parking spaces, while the town will fund 84 spaces to serve as public parking. Outside of library hours, the 125 library parking spaces would also be available as public parking. The parking garage project is planned in conjunction with a complete renovation of Patrick Henry Library, which is located at 101 Maple Avenue East.
As part of the development agreement, the town must cover up to 30 percent of design costs (up to $850,000) and 19 percent of construction costs (up to $4.2 million). However, the actual amount Fairfax County requested for the design phase was less: $663,000. The county development team selected the firm RRMM to work on the project design.
