Regan and his sister, Cheryl Regan, called and wrote to PNC officials, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, but reportedly did not receive any assistance.

The bank told Cheryl Regan to ask the estate to issue a new check, but the estate’s accounts were closed and empty.

The Washington Post called PNC’s corporate headquarters twice regarding the deposit. Within 4 hours of the second call, the Regans were informed by the bank that the money would be deposited into the account.
