Popular Comedian Jim Gaffigan Sells Out Wolf Trap Show

If you didn’t get tickets to see comedian Jim Gaffigan Saturday, Aug. 9 at Wolf Trap, you can always buy his new book coming out Oct. 21: “Food: A Love Story.” The book is a follow-up to his debut “Dad Is Fat,” which spent 17 weeks on The New York Times Best Sellers list.

With Gaffigan’s books featuring food, it’s no surprise that his eating habits and observations of society’s food obsessions are featured prominently in his act. Another subject the 48-year-old comedian likes to talk about? His kids. He’s a dad to five children, ages 10 to 1, according to a story in the Montreal Gazette.

The comedian is riding a wave of popularity. He was named Concert Comedian of the Year at the 2014 American Comedy Awards. His fourth comedy special, “Obsessed,” debuted in the spring on Comedy Central. It’s available on CD/DVD and on iTunes.

Gaffigan’s nationwide comedy tour brings him to Vienna Aug. 9; that show and at least seven other dates on his tour are sold out.
