Rental Cost, Traffic Among Top Business Concerns In Vienna
Vienna businesses identified their top concerns, from traffic to competition, in a recent survey.

VIENNA, VA — A new survey from Vienna’s Town Business Liaison Committee indicates Vienna businesses are split on what their biggest concern is. The survey was released in May and presented to the Town Council this month.
Of Vienna's 1,300 businesses, 321, or about 25 percent, responded. All but six were small businesses with 50 or less employees.
Businesses ranked their top concerns, and 46 percent identified rental costs and other expenses as the most challenging. Following were economic conditions at 40 percent, as well as changing market conditions and traffic at 37 percent each.

The survey followed up by asking what the town can do to support businesses. Many ask for help in promoting the business, notice about town events and street closures, and collaborating with other businesses.
“TBLC members are committed to keeping our ear to the ground and providing additional support to our Town businesses,” said TBLC Chair Friderike Butler in a statement. “We’ll work with Town Council and staff as well as the Vienna Business Association to help make our businesses more successful.”
