Resident Rescued From Heavy Fire At Vienna Home
One person went to the hospital due to a Saturday fire in Vienna, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

VIENNA, VA — A heavy fire caused one injury in Vienna early Saturday, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
The fire happened around 4:28 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Park Street NE. Units encountered heavy fire upon arrival at the single-family home and requested a second alarm. Firefighters bought the fire under control with an exterior attack followed by an interior attack.
Firefighters located one resident and helped him evacuate. Smoke alarms sounded in the home, but the resident could not hear them. The resident went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to fire investigators, the fire started on the second floor. The cause was the combustion of home improvement materials such as sawdust, floor stain cans and rags. Damages were estimated to be $513,500.
One resident was displaced due to the fire. Red Cross assistance was declined.
