Road Work Will Shut Down Part Of Maple Ave This Week

The eastbound lanes  of Maple Avenue between James Madison Drive and Nutley Street will be closed this week for work related to the

Crews began installing a wet-tap into the water main outside of 540 Maple Ave W. on Wednesday.

Work will be done mostly in the evening and overnight hours, Public Information Officer Kirstyn Barr said. The road will be open to traffic between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. to accommodate the morning rush hour, Barr said, with steel plates covering the work area. It will be closed for the remainder of the day, with work expected to last the next few days.

Drivers can continue down Maple Avenue by using the service road in front of McDonald's.

The repair work is not related in this location, Barr said – it is work required by McDonald's and will be done by contractors hired by the company.
