Several Areas Of Turf Field Burned At Water's Field In Vienna: Police

The latest crime report from Vienna Police includes vandalism at Water's Field and a stolen laptop from a car in the parking lot at Anita's.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police responded to a number of incidents in recent weeks, including vandalism at Water's Field and catalytic converter thefts.

Between 4 p.m. on Friday, April 15 and 6 a.m. on Monday, April 18, a Town of Vienna Parks and Recreation employee reported that someone burned several areas of the turf field at Water's Field on Cherry Street SE.

On April 16, a Vienna Police officer saw a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Marshall Road Elementary School. The driver provided a false identity information to the officer, who then identified him as wanted by Fairfax County Police on a warrant charging him with failure to appear on driving while intoxicated, police said.

The license plates on the man's vehicle were fictitious as well, police said. The 47-year-old man from Bryantown, Maryland, was arrested and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with providing false identity to law enforcement, fictitious license plates and driving without a license, police said. The outstanding Fairfax County warrant was served on him, too.

An employee of Anita's Restaurant on Maple Avenue reported that a laptop computer was stolen from her car between 12:40 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. on April 20. The car, parked in Anita's parking lot, also had its rear passenger window smashed.

A resident reported that the catalytic converter was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked on the roadway.

On April 15, an employee reported that the catalytic converter was stolen from their vehicle while they were at work on April 8. The vehicle was parked in the parking when the theft occurred.

April 4 12:00 p.m.
On April 15, the Health Department reported that a technician was bitten by a dog during a procedure. The 10-day quarantine period had expired, ACO Barker spoke to the dog’s owner and verified that the animal was in good health.

Between April 16 at 7:00 p.m. and April 17 at 11:00 p.m.
A resident reported that their vehicle was legally parked on the roadway, unlocked, with the keys in the vehicle when someone stole the vehicle.

April 20 between 8:10 a.m. and 8:25 a.m.
A resident reported that their vehicle was stolen after they left it parked, and unlocked, with the engine running outside of their apartment for approximately 15 minutes.
