Person Rescued After Tree Falls On Vehicle In Vienna

Fire department crews rescued a person trapped inside a car that a tree had fallen on.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews responded to a person trapped in a car that a tree fell on Friday morning in Vienna.

The fire department said in statement before 9:30 a.m. the entrapment happened at Maple Ave E and Branch Rd SE. The person has been rescued and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other cars appeared to be involved.

The dangerous high winds have closed a number of serves in Town of Vienna. Parks and rec classes at the community center are canceled beginning at 7 a.m., and the Teen Center. The community center is open for drop-in basketball as long as it has power. Regular trash and recycling service will happen. The mayor's walk is cancelled.
