Over 100K Lose Power In Fairfax County, Downed Tree Injures Cop

A nor'easter has hit the DC region in the form of a strong wind storm, leaving hundreds of thousands without power in Fairfax County, one police officer injured and numerous downed trees and power equipment in the roads. Fairfax County and the region is under a high wind warning through 6 a.m. Saturday.

Fairfax County Police say one of their officers was injured by a falling tree. The officer was taken to the hospital and has non-life-threatening injuries.

Numerous roadways across the county are blocked by trees and power lines. Police are directing traffic at some roadways and remind drivers to treat intersections without power as four way stops and to not touch power lines.
