Vandalism At Restaurant, Car Break-Ins: Vienna Crime Report

An iPad and other items were taken from cars and two cars disappeared from driveways, according to police.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police are investigating a vandalism at a family-owned restaurant and series of car break-ins, according to the latest crime report.

The vandalism happened at Skorpio’s Maggio’s Greek Family Restaurant between 11 p.m. on Dec. 28 and 4 a.m. the next morning. Police say a suspect smeared ketchup on the windows of the restaurant and its van and wrote profane messages on the windows and sidewalk. Hours after the initial report to police, vandalism to holiday decorations was found.

The restaurant later reported that someone threw an unknown liquid on the front window between 10 p.m. New Year's Eve and 7 a.m. on New Year's Day. No suspect information was available.

Other major incidents in the Dec. 27-Jan. 2 crime report were vehicle break-ins and two stolen vehicles. The break-ins involved unlocked cars, and most incidents happened in the southwest part of town. Stolen items included an iPad, pair of new shoes and money.

Vienna Police issued a reminder for residents about vehicle break-ins and thefts. Residents are urged to lock car doors, remove valuables and keys, and report suspicious activity. If you have information about an incident, contact Vienna Police at 703-255-6366.
