Vehicle Struck As Driver Flees Police In Vienna, 2 Injured
Vienna Police have charged a man who hit a vehicle and fled, and a group is wanted for destruction at Westwood Country Club.

VIENNA, VA — A man has been charged after a hit-and-run while fleeing from police in Vienna Sunday, according to the police department.
The incident started with police responding to a report of an unconscious man in a pickup truck with the engine running and locked doors at Lullaby Lane and Harmony Drive SE. As officers tried to wake the man up and open the vehicle, the man woke suddenly. Police say the man accelerated toward one officer, who was almost struck.
As the driver was fleeing, he struck another vehicle and left the scene, according to police. Two people in the vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Vienna Police obtained four felony warrants for the suspect, only identified as a 31-year-old Manassas man. On Monday, Fairfax City Police arrested the man on unrelated charges and notified Vienna officers. Vienna Police charged the man with assault on a police officer, hit and run, and two counts of eluding police.
In other news, police are seeking unknown suspects for destruction of property at Westwood Country Club, 800 Maple Avenue East. Video surveillance showed a group of males damaged the grounds and equipment at the country club between 2 a.m. and 2 a.m. last Saturday, July 24, police say. Damages were estimated to be beyond $2,000.

A citizen reported that someone rummaged through their vehicle while it was parked in the
parking lot and stole her wallet. The citizen’s debit card was used to make unauthorized
purchases.
