Friendly Hall Farms has fresh eggs, organic beef and pork along with wonderful fresh tomatoes from the farm. At Westmoreland Produce you’ll find some of the most colorful and beautiful produce you’ll see anywhere. I was amazed at the colors of the tomatoes, blackberries and peppers last week—I just turned around and around and went ahhh! At McLeaf Orchards check out the apples along with the first peaches of the season along with berries and micro greens. At Lois’ Produce the tomatoes are so full and ripe you’ll want to slice one and eat it right there. At Ole Pioneer’s Kitchen buy the best in marinated beef and pork products—perfect for a barbeque or breakfast (I’ll be featuring them in next week’s blog exclusively).

Betty Jane’s Sweet Delight has that perfect gift to take to a weekend brunch or weekend barbeque – a bag of peanut brittle, yum! And if that’s not the right gift stop off at Forget-Me-Not Sweet Delicacies for a box of cookies (you cannot fail with a box of these wonderful nutty sweets perfectly wrapped for you). At Kuhn Orchards buy pie cherries (wonderful) or sweet cherries or my favorite gooseberries (where else can you buy these old fashioned fruits?). At Savage Fudge they are now serving ice pops and I can attest to the flavor of these wonderful treats—this weekend they will feature all natural pineapple-hibiscus, limeade and pina-colada flavor.

And at the front of the market stop off and grab an iced coffee or iced tea at Cafe Amouri or some Salsa and chips at Salsa Las Glorias. Or how about grabbing a slushie or lemonade and some Mexican breakfast or a crepe at Crepes at the Market along with some WaPo award winning donuts at Mamas Donut Bites.

These are just a few of the market’s wonderful offerings. We hope you’ll come out and see us. The market is proudly sponsored by the Optimist Club of Greater Vienna. See you at the market or here next week--Farmer SJ
