Vienna Man Scores $150K In Powerball

The man would have won $50,000, but he tripled his prize through the Power Play.

VIENNA, VA—A Vienna man had luck on his side when he scored $150,000 in the Powerball drawing.

Eldar Yusufoglu bought a ticket with his sister that matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball number. The winning numbers were 1-2-3-7-39 and the Powerball number was 25.

He would have won just $50,000, but he decided to spend an extra dollar on Power Play. The Power Play for that drawing was 3X, which tripled the prize to $150,000.

He bought the winning ticket at the Exxon at 11808 Baron Cameron Avenue in Reston.

Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. The chance of winning any Powerball prize is 1 in 25.
