Vienna Market Work Prompts Maple Avenue Lane Closures
The work and lane closures will occur overnight for several days.
VIENNA, VA — Work on the Vienna Market redevelopment project will cause Maple Avenue lane closures for several days.
A contractor for the project will be installing water valves on Maple Avenue and Church Street from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Aug. 25 through 29. Lane closures and work will happen overnight to reduce impacts to Maple Avenue traffic and commercial buildings on Church Street. The Town of Vienna granted a noise ordinance waiver for this work.
Vienna Market will be located at the former Marco Polo Restaurant site at 245 Maple Avenue. The development will consist of 44 luxury condominium townhomes and 8,200 square feet of retail. Northfield will construct the retail and six townhomes with rooftop terrace space above the retail. The remaining 38 townhouses will be constructed by a national homebuilder. Fairfax Times previously reported the first townhouses could be ready in spring 2020.

Northfield Investment and Development acquired the site earlier this year. The former Marco Polo restaurant was the site of a fire last fall, leading to arson charges for two teens.
