Vienna Restaurant Inspections: Questionable Date On Bacon

VIENNA, VA — Town of Vienna and Fairfax County restaurants regularly undergo health inspections, with the frequency depending on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

The Virginia Department of Health notes in a statement, “In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations." While violations like malfunctioning refrigerators and food that's not warm or cold enough often pop up, health inspectors sometimes note more critical violations.

Here are the results from recent inspections in and around Vienna and Oakton, including restaurants that passed with no violations. Among the notable violations were questionable food expiration dates at American Center Cafe and The Black Squirrel, as well as moldy soda nozzles at Potbelly. All of these violations were corrected during the inspections.
