Synopsis:
One Man, Two Guvnors is an English rewrite of the 1746 Italian comedy classic, The Servant of Two Masters, by Carlos Goldoni. Set in 1963 Brighton, England, an out-of-work skiffle band player Francis becomes separately employed by two men – Roscoe, a small time East End hood, and Stanley Stubbers, an upper class twit. Francis tries to keep the two from meeting, in order to avoid each of them learning that Francis works for both of them. Hilarious and complicated events and twists involving twins, disguises, zany characters, food, love, silliness and audience participation ensue. Infused with live, pre-Beatles-style rock tunes.
