Virginia Girls Lacrosse: Madison Moves on to Liberty District Final

On a cool and drizzly Tuesday evening, Madison High School's girls lacrosse team took a decisive 22-3 win over Thomas Jefferson High.

The win, in the quarter finals of the Liberty District playoffs, will help set the stage for a rematch of last year's Madison-Langley championship game, which Madison won 17-16.  

The Warhawks got playing time from  the entire team with scoring from:

• Katie Kerrigan (2 goals, 2 assists)
• Shannon Condon (2 goals)

• Emily Burke (1 goal. 1 assist)
• Andie Battin (1 goal)
• Lia  Cooley (1 goal)
• Lucy Davidson (1 goal)
• Paige Karp (1 goal)
• Erin Callahan (2 assists)
• Sam Babbitt (1 assist)
• Ellie Bentley (1 assist)
• Emily Bradner (1 assist)
• Maddie Renshaw (1 assist).

Sigourney Heerink was the winning goaltender.  

In the semi-final night cap, the Langley girls defeated Stone Bridge 16-13, setting the stage for Langley to return to the finals.

The Liberty District final begins at 8 p.m. Friday at Langley.
