Wheel Lock Distributions For Hyundai To Begin In Vienna
After Hyundai vehicles have been targeted by thieves amid a TikTok trend, free wheel locks will be provided by Vienna Police.
VIENNA, VA — The Vienna Police Department will begin a steering wheel lock giveaway for Hyundai vehicles, which have been impacted by a vehicle theft trend tied to a TikTok challenge.
The increase in thefts of Kia and Hyundai vehicles has been linked to a TikTok challenge that shows how to steal cars using a USB charging cord. In February, Hyundai and Kia and announced an anti-theft software upgrade extending the length of the alarm sound and requiring a key to be in the ignition to turn the vehicle on.
The Vienna Police Department received steering wheel locks as part of Hyundai's nationwide campaign to address the thefts. According to Vienna Police, a steering wheel lock can offer extra protection against potential thieves.
