The Health Wagon welcomes Dr. Kristin Glover to St. Mary's Faith Pharmacy

(WISE, Va.) - The Health Wagon has named Dr. Kristin Glover as the new director of pharmacy services and pharmacist-in-charge at St. Mary’s Faith Pharmacy. Glover, a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist, brings more than 18 years of experience in community pharmacy, clinical patient care and pharmacy leadership to the role. In her new position, Glover will oversee pharmacy services for uninsured, underinsured and medically underserved patients in Southwest Virginia. Her background includes medication therapy management, chronic disease care, obesity and metabolic care, and immunization services. “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Glover to our team,” said Teresa Tyson, CEO of the Health Wagon. “Her extensive clinical knowledge and deep commitment to compassionate patient care will be invaluable as we continue to expand our services for those who need them most in our communities.” Glover earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Appalachian College of Pharmacy in May 2008. She received her board certification in ambulatory care pharmacy from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in December 2023. The transition comes as St. Mary’s Faith Pharmacy continues to expand on the success of Pharmacy Connect, a patient assistance program run in cooperation with pharmaceutical companies. The program secures brand-name medications at no cost for qualifying patients. Over the past 17 years, the Pharmacy Connect program—in partnership with Mountain Empire Older Citizens and the Virginia Health Care Foundation—has provided more than $20 million in lifesaving medications to the region. “The opening of the pharmacy in 2024 was a natural evolution of the success of this program,” Tyson said. “It was made possible by a beloved donor and several caring pharmaceutical programs that help free pharmacies.” Under Glover’s leadership, St. Mary’s Faith Pharmacy will continue the Pharmacy Connect program while introducing additional medication services to local residents. St. Mary’s Faith Pharmacy provides free and charitable pharmaceutical services to the community. Its mission is to improve individual health and well-being by ensuring access to essential medications, promoting health education and delivering transformative care to those in need. The Health Wagon is a nurse practitioner-managed clinic established in 1980. It provides free medical, dental, vision and specialty healthcare services throughout Southwest Virginia, including Lee, Scott, Wise, Dickenson, Buchanan, Washington and Russell counties and the city of Norton.
