Armed Robbery Takes Place in Broad Daylight at Shopping Center

Prince William County police are looking for two suspects in an armed robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon at a shopping center in Woodbridge.

Police responded at 3:34 p.m. to the report of the robbery in the 4300 block of Merchants Plaza, according to a Prince William police report. The victim, a 27-year-old man from Woodbridge, told police that he had made arrangements to meet with an unknown man at the shopping center to buy an iPhone.

Once there, he met with the man, who came with another male suspect. During the encounter, one of the men pulled out a handgun and took the victim’s phone and car keys, the police said.

The suspects then proceeded to rummage through the victim’s vehicle before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police dog was used to search for the suspects and located the victim’s keys, according to the police report.

The two suspects were described as:

• A black male, between 15 and 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds with a medium build and shoulder-length black dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black fleece and dark-colored jeans.
• A black male, between 15 and 25 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a jacket and jeans.
