Cause Of Death Announced For Dumfries Man Killed In Storm: Police

Preliminary findings showed that a Dumfries man's death was accidental when a tree fell on his home during this weekend's storms.

DUMFRIES, VA — Authorities have determined a cause of death for the Dumfries man who was killed on Saturday when a tree fell onto his home.

Preliminary findings showed that the man died of blunt force trauma to the upper body. His death is being classified as an accident, the Prince William County Police Department said.

On Monday, authorities identified the man as 44-year-old Kenneth Allan Lee, Jr. No other injuries were reported.

Around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, police officers were called to a home in the 15300 block of Holly Hills Drive in Dumfries for "a death, possibly related to severe weather," the police report said.

Investigators determined that Lee was inside the home when a tree fell onto it. Family members called 911, but Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lee's death is being investigated by the Office of the Medical Examiner. Investigators will release a final determination and cause of death in the coming months, the police department said.
