Media Report: VDOT Sign Snafu Confuses Drivers on Dale Boulevard
VDOT says field crew lowered speed limit without telling chief engineer.

Last week, the speed limit abruptly dropped in a construction zone on Dale Boulevard, between Kerrydale Road and Mapledale Avenue in Dale City.
It turned out that field crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) saw the project’s original plan, which recommended the speed reduction during the road widening and traffic signal project. The speed limit was lowered from 45 mph to 35 mph.
