Gaines is wanted for two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, one count of shooting from a moving vehicle and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to a Prince William police report.

At 2:06 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 17900 block of Swans Creek Lane near Dumfries after multiple callers reported to police that two vehicles were driving recklessly down Swans Creek Lane, with the occupants shooting towards each other.

While searching the area, officers recovered numerous shell casings along the roadway, the police report said. And police detectives received a tip regarding one of the vehicles involved.

Through that lead, investigators located a gold Saab in the area of Brandy Moor Loop, off Route 1 north of Dumfries, the police report said. The detectives identified Gaines as one of the passengers in that vehicle.

Gaines was reportedly seen by witnesses shooting from the Saab towards the other vehicle, described as “a red Kia, unknown model.” (In a previous report, the Prince William police identified this vehicle as a red Scion.)

Detectives have obtained multiple warrants for the arrest of Gaines in connection to this incident, police said. The investigation into this incident is continuing as detectives search for the other vehicle and seek to identify the other suspects involved.
