Woodbridge Motorcyclist Dies After 130 MPH Chase

A Woodbridge motorcyclist trying to evade police reached speeds up to 130 miles per hour before crashing.

WOODBRIDGE, VAโ€”A Woodbridge man is dead after trying to escape police during a high-speed chase on his motorcycle Sunday.

Around 2:40 a.m., Virginia State Police received a report of a speeding motorcyclist on Interstate 395 in Arlington, according to The Washington Post. Officers found the driver going 80 in a 55 miles per hour area, and police began a high-speed chase.

Police say the driver went up to 130 miles per hour, and the chase led them from 395 to 95. He exited at Route 123 in Occoquan and lost control of the vehicle at the intersection with Commerce Street.

The motorcycle went over a curb and struck a retaining wall. Clint I. Gaskins, 36, of Woodbridge died of his injuries on the scene.
