South Everett Shooting Suspect Caught (myeverettnews.com) — A man has been arrested after deputies say he shot a 27-year-old acquaintance in the head during a domestic violence incident in South Everett's 13000 block of 8th Ave West. The victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center, while deputies used K9 teams, containment, and follow-up work to locate the suspect in Everett and book him into Snohomish County Jail for first-degree assault.
   

2. Everett Public Schools OKs 2-year contract with teacher's union (heraldnet.com) — Everett Public Schools has approved a new two-year contract with the teachers union, locking in at least 3% annual raises and finalizing school calendars that families rely on. Negotiators reached the deal just before classes begin, with strong union support and district leaders emphasizing a shared focus on keeping students in classrooms and supporting educators.
   

3. Man accused of trying to rob Everett, WA convenience store (fox13seattle.com) — Everett police arrested a man Wednesday morning after he allegedly threatened a convenience store worker with a weapon and demanded cash near Eighth Street and North Broadway. Thanks to the worker providing a license plate, officers quickly found the reportedly stolen vehicle nearby and booked the suspect into Snohomish County Jail on first-degree robbery and stolen vehicle charges.
   

4. Prep roundup: Granite Falls volleyball picks up first win (heraldnet.com) — Everett High athletes were busy Wednesday, with the Seagulls volleyball team narrowly falling in a five-set thriller to Archbishop Murphy and the boys tennis squad edging Mountlake Terrace 4-3 at Clark Park. Everett's cross-country teams also competed at Ballinger Field, where both the boys and girls placed ahead of Marysville Getchell in a multi-school Wesco meet.
   

5. Fall 2026 WSU ETM Handshake (wsu.edu) — WSU's Engineering and Technology Management program is hosting a Fall 2026 Handshake reception at the WSU Everett campus on September 25 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Local students, alumni, and prospective students can meet faculty, network with other professionals, and explore ETM career paths without leaving Everett, alongside similar events in Vancouver and Tacoma.
