Everett immigration enforcement operation sparks questions from neighbors (kiro7.com) — Neighbors in North Everett are raising concerns after federal immigration agents detained a man doing yard work near Fifth Street, prompting questions about warrants and identification. Residents recorded video of the arrest and say they're unsettled by the agents' responses. ICE has declined to release details, citing privacy, leaving neighbors waiting for more information.
   

2. Everett gets a giant troll (heraldnet.com) — A south Everett couple has turned their Monte Cristo award-winning yard into a local landmark with Jaspar, a 6-foot handmade troll greeting drivers on 76th Street SW. Built from Styrofoam, sculpting cement and burlap, the whimsical figure has already won ribbons at area fairs and may soon be joined by a companion, adding another quirky stop to Everett's growing troll-hunting circuit.
   

3. Everett FD receives unexpected thank you after battling Spokane wildfires (everettpost.com) — Everett firefighters who helped battle Spokane's Old Trails Fire got a heartfelt surprise when a Spokane resident drove 300 miles to the Everett fire station to hand-deliver custom leather radio straps. The gift will stay with Brush 1 for future wildland deployments, highlighting how Everett's crews support other Washington communities during major fires and how that generosity is remembered.
   

4. WSDOT shares update on high-speed rail planning (heraldnet.com) — Transportation planners are studying a high-speed rail line from Portland to Vancouver, B.C., and Everett is on the shortlist for a Snohomish County station. While routes, funding and timelines are still years from being finalized, WSDOT is using new federal grants to shape options and is asking corridor residents, including Everett locals, to share priorities through emails and an upcoming online open house.
