Deputy Shoots And Kills Lakewood Suspect In Lucky Eagle Casino Parking Lot
A Thurston County Sheriff's deputy shot a suspect Tuesday night who later died from his injuries.

ROCHESTER, WA - A Thurston County Sheriff's deputy shot a 55-year-old Lakewood man outside the Lucky Eagle Casino Tuesday night. The suspect was airlifted taken to a hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries. The suspect was reportedly aiming a gun at the deputy, according to a police statement.
The call initially came in regarding a man who was behaving erratically and was armed with a pistol at 7:45 p.m. at a residence near the intersection of Highway 12 and Anderson Road SW. Deputies located the suspect's vehicle parked at the casino.
The man allegedly exited the vehicle armed with a pistol. The deputy told the suspect to drop the weapon. When he refused, the deputy shot the man several times.

An initial police statement said the suspect was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. However, a subsequent statement said he was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Olympia.
The deputy in the case was not injured. The shooting is under investigation.
