Seattle mayor wants fund for startups after report cites tech job instability (bigcountrynewsconnection.com) — Seattle's mayor just signed an executive order to explore creating a city-backed investment fund aimed at keeping local startups from leaving town, even as Seattle faces a projected $150 million budget deficit. A new city-commissioned report warns that Seattle's tech-heavy economy and reliance on big firms leave jobs, tax revenues, and even home values vulnerable to AI-driven shifts and corporate downsizing.
   

4. Seattle councilman continues to pressure mayor on police chief departure (bigcountrynewsconnection.com) — Seattle residents are watching a growing clash between Councilmember Bob Kettle and Mayor Katie Wilson over the forced resignation of former Police Chief Shon Barnes after the Bite of Seattle shooting.
