Friends Of Man Shot At Yiannopoulos Protest In Seattle Start Fundraiser
They need $30,000 to pay for the victim's medical bills.

SEATTLE, WA - The friends of a man who was shot during a protest on Friday night at the University of Washington have established an online fundraiser to pay for the man's medical bills.
The 34-year-old was shot during a protest of a Milo Yiannopoulos event at Kane Hall on the UW campus. He sustained a wound to the abdomen and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition on Friday. His condition was upgraded to serious on Sunday morning.
The fundraiser, established by the Industrial Workers of the World group, of which the victim was a member, is seeking $30,000 to pay for medical care. On Sunday, the fundraiser was a little over halfway toward its goal.

"This Fellow Worker (what members of the IWW call ourselves) and Defender (for GDC members) is a longtime anti-fascist and dedicated activist, a member of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) and the General Defense Committee of the IWW," reads a message on the fundraiser page. "He’s currently in critical condition at Harborview Hospital in Seattle. They have a Level One Trauma center, so it’s likely he is receiving the best quality care available, for which we are deeply grateful."
The man suspected of shooting the protester turned himself in on Friday after the shooting. Police released him, however, after the shooter claimed he acted in self defense.
