Infant With Measles Visited Seattle Hospital
A 6-month-old girl is the latest person in King County diagnosed with measles.

SEATTLE, WA - A 6-month-old girl has been confirmed as the fifth person in King County to have measles, local health officials said Saturday afternoon. This is the eighth case in greater Puget Sound area confirmed this month.
The girl contracted measles from a person in her home. The four other recent King County cases stem from an exposure at Sea-Tac Airport in April, health investigators believe.
“This case was a household contact of a person diagnosed with measles earlier this month, and was not exposed to measles in the community,” King County health said in a statement Saturday.

The infant was taken to Seattle Children’s emergency room on May 24 and was there between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The four other confirmed cases in King County include a person from the Auburn area, two women in their 50s and 40s who visited locations in Sammamish, Seattle, and Issaquah, and another person who visited several locations in Renton. A man from British Columbia visited Seattle in late April while contagious with measles and visited multiple locations, including the Space Needle and the Monorail. His case is not included in the county's tally.
