Isaiah Thomas Sends 100 Pizzas To Seattle Health Workers

The NBA veteran and former Huskies basketball star sent more than 100 Pagliacci pizzas to workers at Harborview and UW Medical Center.

SEATTLE, WA — Isaiah Thomas, the former Husky Men's Basketball star and NBA veteran, sent more than 100 pizzas to health care workers at Harborview Medical Center and two UW Medical Center campuses Tuesday night.

Thomas, who was born and raised in Pierce County, said he wanted to show his appreciation for all the doctors, nurses and cleaning staff at UW Medicine and thank them for their work on the front lines of the coronavirus outbreak in Washington.

"My family and I appreciate you and want you to know that we couldn't get through this without you," Thomas said in a video message posted on YouTube.

According to UW Medicine, Thomas said he will send over more pizza next Tuesday, April 14. The Seattle Times reports the basketball star plans to donate more than 1,000 pizzas to health workers in the days ahead.

Wednesday afternoon, ESPN reported Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf donated $25,000 to Swedish Hospital to help fight coronavirus in Seattle.
