Man Accused Of Keeping Treehouse Full Of Child Porn Enters Plea

Daniel Wood, 56, of Mill Creek, is facing a single count of possession of child porn.

SEATTLE, WA - A Mill Creek man accused of keeping child porn in a treehouse in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest was arraigned Monday. Daniel Wood, 56, pleaded not guilty Monday to a charge of one count of possession of child porn.

According to court documents, a state Department of Natural Resources employee in November 2016 found the treehouse almost 10 miles north of North Bend along Southeast Middle Fork Road.

The DNR employee allegedly found images of young girls secured to the wall of the structure. The treehouse is suspended about 10 feet off the ground and was described as resembling a gingerbread house, according to court documents.

According to court documents, police later took items from the cabin to gather fingerprints. Meanwhile, investigators observed a Toyota SUV parked near the cabin and traced its license plate back to Wood. Using DNA and fingerprint information, investigators were able to link Wood to the cabin and its contents, according to court documents.

On Feb. 12, police searched Wood's Mill Creek home and allegedly recovered a trove of digital information.
On a single digital storage card, an FBI agent found "thousands of images of child erotica and child pornography," some depicting prepubescent girls engaging in sexual activity. An FBI agent also found images of a young girl posing inside the cabin, according to court records.
