Seattle's Iconic Cafe Racer Reopens

Five years after the restaurant was the scene of one of the city's deadliest shootings. Now, with a new owner, they are back

SEATLE, WA – It's a big weekend for the University District as Cafe Racer reopens. The iconic Seattle hangout, which closed in October, reopened officially Thursday night as part of what its new owner says is a weekend-long celebration.

The joint on Roosevelt Way has long been a place for artists, musicians, and members of the community.

It was also the site of one of the city's deadliest shootings. In May 2012, a man walked in and killed four people.
