• Grand opening for new community resource center (wsaz.com) — A new community resource center on Sissonville Drive in Charleston is now offering food, clothing, and furniture to anyone in need. Run by Search and Rescue with Lighthouse Worship Center, the center aims to support grandparents raising kids, foster children, people experiencing homelessness, and those leaving recovery, and is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
   

• University of Charleston to Hold Dedication Ceremony for Welch Hall (wvpress.org) — The University of Charleston is renaming a key campus building Welch Hall to honor longtime former president Dr. Edwin Welch, with a public dedication set for Thursday, Sept. 24 at 5 p.m. in Charleston. The ceremony, part of Homecoming & Family Weekend, will bring together students, alumni, and community members for reunions, a Hall of Fame induction, and other celebrations.
   

• WorkForce WV slates next Statewide Virtual Job Fair (wvnews.com) — WorkForce West Virginia, based in Charleston, is hosting the next Statewide Virtual Job Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 1–3:30 p.m., inviting both employers and job seekers. Residents can register online, create virtual booths, and use training tools to prepare, with thousands of openings typically posted across the state.
