• Jessica Hudson approved for Ward 18 City Council seat (wowktv.com) — Charleston residents in Ward 18 have a new representative, as Kanawha City resident Jessica Hudson was appointed to the open City Council seat and begins serving immediately. With more than 20 years in healthcare finance and leadership, she already serves on the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department board and says she's eager to listen and work for her neighbors. 
• West Virginia landmarks to glow orange for Hunger Action Month (wvnews.com) — Charleston residents will see the Coliseum and Convention Center glowing orange all month as part of Hunger Action Month, highlighting rising food insecurity in West Virginia. Mountaineer Food Bank is coordinating orange lighting at landmarks statewide, including Morgantown and Turnpike travel plazas, to encourage people to learn more and support efforts to fight hunger.
• What West Virginia drivers should do when animals die on roads (wvnews.com) — State transportation officials in Charleston are reminding West Virginia drivers what to do when animals are killed on the road, including when the Division of Highways will remove carcasses and how to report hazards. The guidance explains which situations get priority, what happens on private property, and how residents can use the WVROADS hotline or online system to request help.
