• Free health fair in Shepherdstown to offer screenings, talks (heraldmailmedia.com) — A free community health fair is coming to Asbury United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown on Oct. 3, offering discounted lab tests, wellness screenings, and cancer-prevention resources. WVU Medicine providers, Bonnie's Bus mobile mammography unit, and multiple health presentations will be on-site, but you must register in advance for screenings and mammograms.
   

• 'The Witness: Incidents of the War of Rebellion' to have East Coast premiere (journal-news.net) — Shepherdstown will host the East Coast premiere of "The Witness: Incidents of the War of Rebellion" by Renatum Chamber Choir at the Frank Arts Center on Oct. 24 and 25. The production blends Civil War memoir, spirituals, and theatrical staging, with a post-show reception and talkback available opening night for an additional ticket price and free on-site parking.
