Ray Fuiten sworn in as Green Bay Fire Chief (nbc26.com) — Green Bay has a new Metro Fire Chief, as 20-year department veteran Ray Fuiten was sworn in and outlined priorities focused on safety, strong morale, exceptional service, and investing in firefighters and future leaders. He emphasized ensuring firefighters have long, healthy careers and thanked the Green Bay community, colleagues, and family for their support.

Packers Foundation awards $1.6 million in grants to 402 Wisconsin groups (wtaq.com) — The Green Bay Packers Foundation has awarded $1.6 million in grants statewide, including 42 grants totaling $170,000 to Brown County organizations that serve animal welfare, homelessness, and human services. Additional scholarship funds are supporting local students at four-year colleges and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, with impact expected across every Wisconsin county.

(wpr.org) — Upcoming Medicaid work requirements could push thousands of Wisconsinites, including many in Green Bay, off BadgerCare Plus coverage starting in 2027. Local clinics like NorthEast Wisconsin Community Clinic are already adjusting budgets and outreach to help residents understand exemptions, document work hours, and avoid surprise medical bills as federal rules tighten and rural hospitals brace for financial strain.
   

5. Wisconsin lawmaker proposes screen-free classrooms for Pre-K to 2nd grade (fox11online.com) — A proposed state bill would require Wisconsin classrooms from Pre-K through 2nd grade to be screen-free, a change that would affect young students in Green Bay as well. A Green Bay counseling center stresses balanced, mindful screen use, while some educators elsewhere in the state argue that limited classroom technology remains an important learning tool.
