New Madison market aims to put more local food dollars back in farmers' pockets (wmtv15news.com) — A new west-side shop, Grandad's Farm Stop, just opened in Madison, giving local residents a year-round place to buy Wisconsin-grown food while sending a much larger share of each dollar back to nearby farmers. The consignment-style market and café aims to become a neighborhood one-stop shop, strengthening connections between customers, producers, and the land that feeds the community.
   

2. Young men found covered in food in frat basement as police investigate alleged hazing (pulptastic.com) — Madison police are investigating alleged hazing at an Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity house after finding about 30 partially clothed young men in a sweltering basement, covered in food and showing signs of possible assault. Two members were arrested on tentative misdemeanor hazing and disorderly conduct charges, while UW–Madison and the national fraternity have launched parallel investigations despite the chapter's lack of university recognition.
   

3. Madison La Follette dominates to claim Lussier Cup over Madison East (wmtv15news.com) — Madison football fans saw La Follette dominate rival Madison East 55–9 at Lussier Stadium to secure the Lussier Cup in convincing fashion. A huge night from junior Cooper Hermanson and quarterback Patrick Toomey powered the Lancers, with big plays on offense, special teams, and defense turning the city showdown into a runaway win.
   

4. Madison experts say AI can see cancer humans can't, but it has limits (captimes.com) — Cancer specialists in Madison are testing how artificial intelligence can help radiologists spot tumors too small for the human eye, especially in mammograms. UW–Madison and Carbone Cancer Center experts say AI could improve earlier detection and treatment decisions, but warn that biased or incomplete data could worsen disparities if algorithms are trusted too much or trained on unrepresentative patients.
