Cafecito y Caminata (isthmus.com) — Madison residents are invited to Cafecito y Caminata at Warner Park's community center, where neighbors can share free coffee or tea before a group walk around the park. Meeting at 1 p.m. on first and third Fridays, the accessible, all-ages gathering is designed to build cross-cultural connections, support older adults, and help people make new friends close to home.
   

2. Mt. Joy plays Madison for student mental health awareness (captimes.com) — UW–Madison students packed the Orpheum Theatre for a sold-out Mt. Joy concert that doubled as a phone-free mental health event, part of the Future Friends campus series. Alongside live music, students heard suicide-prevention advocate Kevin Hines and joined wellness-focused activities, screenings, and meditation sessions aimed at easing loneliness and connecting young people across Madison's campus community.
   

3. Lenny Pearce Brings Toddler Techno to The Sylvee (macaronikid.com) — Families in Madison can plan a high-energy night out when Australian DJ Lenny Pearce brings his kid-focused Toddler Techno show to The Sylvee on Friday, Oct. 16. The early-evening event promises club-style lights, visuals, and remixed nursery rhymes designed for toddlers, children, and their grown-ups, with details and ticket information available on the venue's website.
   

4. One goal enough for Wisconsin men's hockey to close out sweep (madison.com) — UW–Madison men's hockey opened the season strong at the Kohl Center, completing a sweep of Robert Morris behind another shutout performance and timely scoring. Packed stands in Madison saw Badger skaters control play, celebrate multiple goals, and give fans early optimism for the rest of the home schedule this fall and winter.
