OAK CREEK, WI -- If you've lived in Oak Creek for your whole life, you might feel that the mass-scale development that has been happening in Oak Creek over the last several years is transforming your city into something unrecognizable.
There have been big changes to Oak Creek High School and area schools, there's been the creation and expansion of a city center and retail district, several new retailers have moved into the area, and now we're seeing new large companies landing in Oak Creek.
Here are the top 10 developments that took place in 2018 in Oak Creek, according to city officials:

1. Approval of Orchard Hills, a 225-unit multi-family neighborhood on 27th St.
2. Groundbreaking for Zund America, Inc. a corporate office headquarters of approximately 50,000 square feet in Drexel Town Square.

3. Groundbreaking for an Aldi grocery store and 6,100 square foot multi-tenant building at
the doorstep of Drexel Town Square. This re-development cleans up a former storage
unit complex and vacant industrial building.
4. Environmental clean-up of the former Bioversal site at the corner of 6th & Rawson. Oak Creek officials say the old buildings served as a significant community eye-sore and will be re-developed with a new 180,000 square foot light industrial building.
5. Continuing build-out in Drexel Town Square including The Waters Senior Living, and a
multi-tenant commercial building housing Stanton Optical, Mac’s Macaroni and Cheese
shop, a Verizon corporate store, and First Watch (a breakfast and lunch restaurant).
6. Announcement of a Froedtert neighborhood hospital at the corner of 13th & Drexel.
7. Announcement of a Lakeshore Veterinary Hospital at the corner of 27th & Ryan Road.
8. Completion of two build-to-suit projects in Oakview Business Park including Greco &
Sons and Arena Americas.
9. The opening of Lake Vista Park and the transition to the marketing phase of lakefront
development opportunities immediately adjacent to the new park.
10. Announcement of a new $200 million Amazon Fulfillment Center project to be located at the new Ryan Business Park.
