1. Rooted in Cheyenne to conduct fall 2026 tree planting event Sept. 19 (wyomingnews.com) — Cheyenne residents still have time to sign up for Rooted in Cheyenne's Sept. 19 neighborhood tree planting, which will add more than 100 new trees along city streets. Volunteers 12 and older get meals, a T‑shirt, and work alongside green industry pros, while some neighborhoods receive free trees funded by sponsors like Microsoft and HF Sinclair.
   

2. Laramie County approves spending $800K on contracts, purchases Tuesday (capcity.news) — Laramie County commissioners in Cheyenne just approved about $886,000 for local contracts and services, including funding for Cheyenne LEADS, the Downtown Development Authority, senior programs, and suicide and substance abuse prevention at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. They're also seeking more than $600,000 in state homeland security grants for patrol tech, 911 training tools, emergency shelter kits, and other public safety upgrades that will affect Cheyenne residents.
   

3. Cox Ranch addition now halfway through city process after positive Cheyenne vote (capcity.news) — Cheyenne's City Council has advanced ordinances to annex over 1,200 acres at Cox Ranch, moving a major data center proposal halfway through the city approval process despite vocal opposition over water, traffic, and growth. A related Orchard Hills annexation also began its journey, with final council votes on Cox Ranch possible Sept. 28.
   

4. Game and Fish reminds hunters to stop at check stations (wyo.gov) — Hunters around Cheyenne are being reminded that stopping at Wyoming Game and Fish check stations is mandatory, whether or not you've harvested an animal. Officers use these stops to verify licenses, collect biological and disease data, and ask brief questions about your hunt, helping shape future wildlife management and hunting opportunities across the region.
   

5. Cheyenne Chamber's effort for transparent data center information (kgab.com) — Cheyenne's Chamber of Commerce is launching a website and public events to give residents clearer, fact‑based information about proposed data centers in Laramie County. Chamber CEO Dale Steenbergen says the goal is to ask tough questions, explain both benefits and risks, and offer resources that aren't skewed for or against these projects.
