Google promises to replenish local watershed at open house in Cheyenne (wyomingpublicmedia.org) — A massive Google data center proposed eight miles south of Cheyenne promises thousands of construction jobs and about 250 permanent positions while drawing water from deep wells and pledging to replenish more than it uses. At an open house in Cheyenne, company representatives detailed plans for noise limits, air permits, and wildlife‑friendly design, while nearby residents raised concerns about roads, water, and cumulative development on the south side.
   

2. In observance of National POW/MIA Remembrance Day, F.E. Warren airmen embark on 24-hour ruck (oilcity.news) — Airmen at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne are marching a continuous 24‑hour walk, run and ruck around a mile‑long track to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action ahead of National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Organizers say the demanding vigil strengthens bonds on base and reminds local families that their loved ones' sacrifices are remembered by today's service members.
   

3. Laramie County Community College to become Wyoming State College (kgab.com) — Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne will rebrand as Wyoming State College on July 1, 2027, after a unanimous trustee vote backed by Mayor Patrick Collins. Supporters say the new name better reflects the school's offerings and location, helping attract more students and strengthen Wyoming's workforce, though some institutions elsewhere in the state have criticized the change.
   

4. Central High student wins $6K in national documentary competition (capcity.news) — A Central High School student in Cheyenne, Noah Make, has won a $6,000 grand prize in a national documentary competition for his film on Armin T. Wegner, who documented the Armenian Genocide. His teacher, Aaron Kruger, received a $1,000 Outstanding Educator Award, and two other Central students also placed, highlighting standout academic and creative work happening in Cheyenne's schools.
   

5. New Plan For Scaled-Down Laramie Range Wind Project Still Bigger Than Cheyenne (cowboystatedaily.com) — A scaled‑down Laramie Range Wind Project is back before Laramie County commissioners after state regulators approved it with 26 conditions, and it's still planned to cover an area larger than Cheyenne. Local ranchers near Horse Creek are split, with some welcoming lease income and others warning about water use, rural roads, emergency response and a surge of construction workers as Cheyenne's region rapidly develops.
