Driver in Double Fatal Crash Pleads Not Guilty to Manslaughter
The suspect remains in custody on charges she caused the crash that killed a Greenwich woman and a Stamford man.

The woman accused of fleeing the car crash she caused that killed a Greenwich woman and a Stamford man in November remains in custody, unable to post the $500,000 bond set on the manslaughter charges she faces.
Felicia Burl, 32, of Stamford and Bridgeport, pleaded not guilty to two counts each of second-degree manslaughter and felony evading responsibility, and second-degree assault, according to The Advocate. Burl’s next appearance in state Superior Court in Stamford is scheduled for Jan. 6.
Stamford Police say Burl ran from the intersection of West Main Street and Alvord Lane in Stamford, after running a red light and slamming into a car that had the right-of-way on West Main Street. The Nov. 7 crash killed the owner of the Nissan Altima Bural was driving, Nixon Henry, 50, of Stamford, and Judith Andriulli, 70, of Cos Cob, who was a passenger in the BMW station wagon that Burl struck, police have said.

According to The Advocate, which obtained a copy of the arrest warrant affadavit, police have estimated Burl was driving between 40 and 45 mph when she struck the BMW being driven by Anthony Andriulli, 73. Mr. Andriullli continues to recuperate from several broken bones he suffered. A memorial service for his wife is scheduled for Dec. 6.
Burl was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 3 by Stamford Police, who were assisted by federal marshals, at a home on Greenwood Hill Street in Stamford. Burl has an extensive criminal record including convictions for narcotics, larceny, assault and escape from custody, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.

Police were able to identify Burl as the driver from DNA evidence they recovered from the Altima as well as from photo images on a damaged cell phone they found, according to The Advocate story that can be found here.
