Syosset Man Dies After Crashing Into House
Man may have suffered a medical emergency prior to crash in Huntington, police say.

A 49-year-old Syosset man died after his SUV crashed into a home in Huntington Friday night, police said.
James A. Spillane may have suffered a “medical emergency” before the crash, police said.
According to police, Spillane was driving a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder west on Woodhull Road when his vehicle veered to the left and drove across a lawn located at 107 Woodhull Road before crashing into the northeast corner of the home at 11:38 p.m.

Spillane was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
No one inside the home was injured, but the home suffered minor damage, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
The crash comes just a day after a similar crash in Oakdale. In that incident, a 92-year-old cab driver died after crashing into an Oakdale home. Police say he may have also suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
