Wantagh Student Heading to State's National Geographic Bee

Event is March 27 at New York State Museum's Cultural Education Center.

Wantagh Middle School eighth-grader William Hostetter has qualified to compete in the New York State level of the National Geographic Bee, which will be held at the New York State Museum’s Cultural Education Center on March 27.

A two-time school winner, William took an exam for a chance to participate in the state finals after the school-level competition in February. Under the direction of social studies teacher David Cippoletti and Supervisor of Social Studies Christopher Widmann, competitors were tested in a challenging 15-round contest on their knowledge of U.S. cities, historic places, continents and U.S. and world geography.
