BIRMINGHAM, AL - Few politicians in the last decade have been more controversial in Alabama than Roy Moore, and after this week, it appears he is not going away. Moore announced this past week that he will again seek election to the United States Senate, a bid he almost won in 2017.

That was just one of the big headlines in the area during the week of June 16-23, a week that included a sexual misconduct scandal uncovered at a local private school, a man killed after being carjacked, the Birmingham Fire Department coming closer to hiring a new chief and more.

Alabama Republican Roy Moore announced Thursday that he is running for U.S. Senate again in 2020 after failing to win the seat two years ago amid sexual misconduct accusations.
