An escaped convict was captured in Kentucky, Birmingham braced for snow that never came, and a local editor responded to Trump's criticism.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - This past week, Birmingham - or at least one Birmingham resident - made national headlines when Cliff Sims was criticized by Pres. Donald Trump for his newly-released tell-all book. Also in the news locally was a snow storm that never arrived, and the news that an escaped convict out of the St. Clair Correctional facility was captured in Kentucky.

Escaped St. Clair Prisoner Captured in Kentucky
An escaped convict from the St. Clair County Correctional Facility in Springville has been recaptured. Corey Aris Davis, a 30-year-old man serving a life sentence on human trafficking, was found in Kentucky Saturday.

Birmingham's Cliff Sims, founder of the conservative news site Yellowhammer News, has written a tell-all book on his days on the Trump staff, titled "Team of Vipers: My 500 Extraordinary Days in the Trump White House." Sims worked as the special assistant to the President and as the director of White House message strategy, before resigning last year, and Trump had some choice words to rebut Sims' account of his time with the Trump staff.

Winter Storm Warnings Canceled In Alabama
Schools closed, many offices closed and Alabama residents from the central part of the state to the northern counties braced for 2-5 inches of snow that was expected for Tuesday of last week. That winter storm, however, never arrived.

Student Taken Into Custody After Terrorist Threats
A 13-year-old suspect was taken into custody after posting on social media that he planned to bring a gun to Pleasant Grove High School.
