BIRMINGHAM, AL — From family entertainment to late night live music, this weekend in Birmingham is full of options for those who want to get out and have some fun. Friday and Saturday are expected to include rainy weather, but there are plenty of opportunities both indoors and outdoors throughout the weekend

Friday, Nov. 22:

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones; Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center, 8 p.m.: The legendary Bela Fleck performs live at Jemison Hall in the ALys Stephens Performing Arts Center at UAB.
Lights Up Holiday Parade; The Summit, 5 p.m.: The parade begins at Barnes & Noble and winds through The Summit, ending at REI. Guests are encouraged to come early to grab a spot along the parade route and to enjoy live performances beginning at 5 p.m.. The parade will end with a grand fireworks show around 6:30 p.m.

Brrrmingham's Winter Adventure; Railroad Park, 10 a.m.: Beginning Friday and lasting through Jan. 5, Railroad park hosts Birmingham's only outdoor ice rink.
Saturday, Nov. 23:
Sister Hazel; Iron City, 8 p.m.: Originating from Gainesville, Florida, Sister Hazel is comprised of five gifted, seasoned musicians whose well-spring of natural talent has been called "one of the Top 100 Most Influential Independent Performers of the last 15 years" by Performing Songwriter Magazine.
Market Noel; Finley Center: Market Noel showcases more than 100 regional and national vendors, featuring fashion and home decor, jewelry, holiday items, children's clothes, gourmet food, art and more.
Sesame Street Live! Let's Party!; BJCC, 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. Sat. and Sun.: Jump to the beat with your friends on Sesame Street. Join the fun with an interactive show that unfolds on one of the world's most famous streets at the funniest, furriest party in the neighborhood.
Sunday, Nov. 24:
North Pole Express; Heart Of Dixie Railroad Museum: The North Pole Express makes its way by starlight to the top of the world. On the way, you'll listen to a whimsical Christmas story, sing your favorite holiday carols, and watch out the windows for the bright lights of the North Pole to appear. Upon arrival at the brilliantly decorated home of the Toymaker himself, the elves, Santa, and Mrs. Claus will all board the train to visit your family and to take photos with every child.
