Dothan bets on America's 250th to keep residents home for the Fourth (wtvy.com) — Downtown Dothan is hosting what officials call the city’s largest-ever Fourth of July celebration today, capped by a 300‑drone light show at 9 p.m. along Foster Street and Saint Andrews. With free admission, shuttles from Porter Square Mall, kids activities, and a presidential exhibit in the Civic Center, city leaders hope residents will celebrate America’s 250th birthday close to home.
   

2. Two arrested in Dothan for luring, robbing victim in fake TV sale, police say (wdhn.com) — Dothan police say two men from Pansey lured a buyer to an abandoned trailer on Denton Road with a fake 85‑inch TV sale, then robbed him at gunpoint. Investigators linked one suspect to a similar Denton Road robbery involving a bogus jewelry sale, and both now face felony charges with bonds ranging from $60,000 to $120,000.
   

3. Reported Gunfire Prompts Lockdown at Wiregrass Commons Mall (wiregrassdailynews.com) — Law enforcement locked down Wiregrass Commons Mall in Dothan Friday evening after reports of gunfire, evacuating shoppers and employees while officers searched the building. Investigators later found more than 30 shell casings and two vehicles hit by bullets near Entrance 4, but no victims were located. Dothan police say the investigation is ongoing and have not yet confirmed any arrests.
   

4. Wallace College-Dothan Seals Time Capsule for America 250 (wiregrassdailynews.com) — Wallace Community College-Dothan has sealed a time capsule on its Dothan campus to mark America’s 250th, filled with messages and memorabilia from students, staff, alumni, and community members. The capsule, to be opened in 2076, anchors a yearlong America 250 celebration that’s also included service projects, history presentations, and patriotic gatherings in both Dothan and Eufaula.
   

5. On the diamond with the Dothan 12U All-Stars (wdhn.com) — A dominant group of Dothan 12U All-Stars is heading to Laurel, Mississippi, later this month for the Diamond Youth Baseball World Series after another dramatic state title win. The players and coaches credit their long-running success to tight friendships and are asking the Circle City community for help with sponsorships, donations, and raffle ticket purchases to cover trip costs.
