Dothan City Schools approves four new school principals for 2026-7 (wdhn.com) — Dothan City Schools has approved four new principals who will lead Highlands Elementary, Beverlye Intermediate, Jerry Lee Faine Elementary, and Dothan 6th Grade Center starting in the 2026-27 school year. Each incoming leader brings experience from other districts and says they’re focused on student success, teacher support, and building strong school communities for Dothan families.

Mother Son Dance Set For May 12 In Dothan (wiregrassdailynews.com) — Moms and sons in Dothan can look forward to a superhero-themed Mother Son Dance on May 12, with music, dancing, and family activities. Hosted in Dothan, the event raises funds for the Exchange Center for Child Abuse Prevention and Wiregrass 2-1-1, supporting local families across the Wiregrass.

Dothan's Community Developer leads number one in Colossal's Entrepreneur Impact competition race (wdhn.com) — A Dothan-based YouTuber and community developer, Darante Martin, is currently leading a nationwide Entrepreneur Impact competition and is asking Wiregrass residents to vote to keep him in the running. Martin, a former local pastor, now focuses on helping people navigate mental health and post-religion challenges, and the contest could fund expanding his support work well beyond Dothan.

Enterprise's Schultz signs with Life women's wrestling team (dothaneagle.com) — Enterprise High’s Mackenzie Schultz has officially signed with Life University’s women’s wrestling program, adding another college-bound athlete from the Wiregrass. Alongside her news, Dothan’s own Thomas Dowd and the Dothan girls’ teams are highlighted for their recent basketball success, giving local fans plenty to follow as area titles and college careers take shape.
