1. JST To Open $500M Electronics Plant In Guntersville's Conners Island Business Park (huntsvillebusinessjournal.com) — Guntersville has secured a $500 million JST electronics plant for Conners Island Business Park, bringing a highly automated manufacturing and design center plus many professional jobs. The facility will sit beside Lake Guntersville, preserve much of the natural landscape, and keep the Guntersville High cross-country course open. State and local leaders say the project reflects confidence in the city’s workforce.
   

2. 'Bama boosts boating access with $66 million investment (bassmaster.com) — Guntersville boaters are already benefiting from a $1 million upgrade at Brown’s Creek Public Boat Ramp, including a new three-lane launch, floating pier, and fresh parking funded partly by the city and county. The state’s $66 million boating access push will also improve Mud Creek North on Lake Guntersville and dozens of other ramps statewide through 2027.
   

3. Growing skills from the ground up: Guntersville Middle AG students hold plant sale (whnt.com) — Guntersville Middle School agriscience students are running a hands-on spring plant sale at their on-campus greenhouse, starting Friday and continuing through May 2. Students have grown the vegetables and plants themselves while also learning pricing, cost tracking, and customer service. Neighbors can stop by the Agriscience Greenhouse to support local kids and pick up tomatoes, peppers, squash, and more.
   

4. The 2026 AHSAA boys soccer round one pairings and schedule (gadsdentimes.com) — Guntersville soccer fans can circle Thursday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m., when the Wildcats host Fairview in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs. The full AHSAA boys soccer bracket is set, with dozens of teams statewide kicking off postseason play between April 23 and 25, and second-round matches following on April 27-28.
